The 45th winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Thursday 26th April 1860 over the Ditch Mile, was Sagitta (5/2 fav), a chestnut filly by Longbow out of Legerdemain, owned by the 14th Earl of Derby. The winner won by a neck in 1 minute 51 secs, with a further neck back to the third. A field of 13 runners contested the race which was worth £3,700 (Equivalent to £429,200 in 2017)
